It seems we only do it every other year, and this year the Bluebonnets were extra nice. Last year was so dry they were scarce, so we didn't do them. These were taken in Round Rock, not far from where Sam and her family lives.
I've decided to break my blog into two separate ones - one for personal family stuff and one for my sewing activities and such. My sewing and craft blog can be found at: http://jylslife.blogspot.com/

I guess I'm going back to work on a regular basis.
But only part time (three days a week). My friend who started there two weeks after I did quit this week (you'd think they'd figure out why they can't keep good employees). I just happened to be filling in for a few days since someone was at a class, so the boss asked how many days I could work. We're starting to plan our Christmas in Hawaii and after looking at air fare, I decided that if I worked I could put a big chunk of that money away for the trip. We're going to try to decide on dates so we can book the flights before fuel goes up and the cost goes even higher. From our first, brief hunt for flights, I'm thinking we'd be lucky to get our air fare and hotel for 8 or 9 days for $3,000.
Megan and David should be able to get us reservations for hotel (over $200 per night for Deluxe Ocean Front room). Todd says he wants to wake up and be able to see the beach and ocean, plus this will be a "once in a lifetime" trip. (Umm, they'll be there for three years!!! I'm HOPING he likes it so much we'll be able to go back before they leave.) Plus, McKenna and Carter are growing so fast, it would really be a bummer if we had to go two whole years and not see them in person (skype doesn't count! lol).
The bad part if it is that I don't know if I'd be able to get enough things made to do a craft show this spring. Maybe I can try for one later in the summer, but then it's REALLY HOT here in Central Texas. I'll just have to decide what to do.
So, if anyone has any tips on getting low air fare, please let me know!
In other news, one of my friends has a new edition to their family and I got to cat-sit on Monday!!!!
She's an Exotic Shorthair cat and SOOOO CUTE!!!!!
She's just 6 weeks old, so I watcher her while the "human" went to work. lol Brute really did good with her, I was kind of surprised! They were nose to nose a few times, but I could never get a picture snapped.

Our Motorcycle
Just because I haven't had a lot to blog about lately, I thought I'd add a few pictures of our motorcycle. It's a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900. Bought Labor Day weekend of 2006 on a whim. Todd was still driving truck, so I put the first 300 miles on it. When he came home for a couple of years, he drove it to and from work every once in a while, but since he's been driving again, it hasn't been out of the garage. He says it needs a new battery now.
Hopefully this summer it will get a little more use. :D

I'm working this week.
It's HARD to get used to getting up, showering and being out the door early! (Today was extra early since I had to drop off a bill, then took Brute to be groomed before work.) Not to mention going to work and seeing the changes in computer systems and getting my brain back in the "work mode"! But it is nice to be back in the working world - and knowing it's for a limited time makes it much more bearable. I love using the knowledge I have (years ago I was training a new employee and they were wishing there was a way to just "download" all my knowledge into their brain) and I really enjoy spending time with other people and it's nice to feel appreciated by someone other than my husband. :D Of course, the extra money will be nice, too (I even scored a raise this time!!).
Since I found out for sure last Friday that I'd be working all week, I planned out my menu this weekend. Today's supper, Crock Pot Italian Chicken was really good! I forgot to put it in my little "Crockett" before leaving this morning, so put it in when I was home at lunch, but the two chicken breasts still were cooked completely through. I made egg noodles to have it on, and one breast was too much! (Brute got my leftovers.) The other breast and noodles were put in the fridge for left overs. I may break that up into two servings if I have it for lunch.
The rest of my supper menu consists of:
Roast with carrots and potatoes (crock pot)
Kung Pau Chicken
No Peek Stew (crock pot)
and Shrimp Fried Rice
I even have the meat already in separate containers and they are marked so I know what day they will be used (except the shrimp, I'm using already cooked shrimp that's frozen now).
The weather this week is supposed to be GREAT!!! 80 tomorrow and upper 70's the rest of the week! With the time change, I think I'll be in bed early since I'm exhausted from working.
In other news, Todd has a MAJOR Birthday this month - he turns 50!!! I'd really like to throw a huge party for him, but I never know for sure when he'll be home and I doubt I could pull it off with 24 to 48 hours notice.
